HLTAID012 Express Childcare First Aid Course Eligibility & Requirements
There are no formal prerequisites, however all online learning must be completed prior to attending your in-person childcare first aid class. This express childcare first aid course is ideal for those short on time & needing renewal to meet workplace compliance. Previous completion of a Childcare First Aid course is strongly recommended due to the express assessment-focused format.
Age & USI Requirements
- Must be at least 14 years old
- Under 18 requires parent/guardian consent
- Valid USI required for certification
LLN Requirements
- Complete incident reports accurately
- Demonstrate assertive communication in emergencies
- Understand spoken instructions & count to 30
- Understand ARC guidelines
Physical Requirements
- Perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR on adult & infant manikins
- Able to kneel on floor during assessment
- Demonstrate AED operation
- Perform infant & child-speciific first aid techniques
